Infant/Preschool Toy of the Year Award 2008

The Toy Industry Association announced their nominees for the Toy of the Year Awards (TOTY) last fall. On February 16, they will announce the winners. I thought it would be fun to put in my guesses for the winners in these annual awards.  I start with the Infant/Preschool award.

Disclaimor: I am not a member of the Toy Industry Association and I do not have any inside information.  With 5 nominees in each category, I have a 20% chance of guessing the correct winner for a category.

For the infant/preschool category, I wish they would have divided it into 2 sections (then I could vote for an infant and a preschool winner).  I am not choosing the Moon Sand Adventure Island and TMX Friends just because they are re-makes of 2006 toys. That leaves the Brightlings Exploration Station by LeapFrog, the Cook n Learn Interactive Kitchen by Little Tikes, and the iPlay Lift Off Rocket by International Playthings.  And the winner is, the Little Tikes Cook’n Learn Kitchen.  Kids will have hours of imaginative play with this kitchen. They can cook just like Mom and Dad. They can play with their friends. There are educational games that teach food, colors, sizes, and following directions. And this fun kitchen is priced under $100 making it a great value too!
