Award Winning Toys for Infants and Toddlers

Shopping for the little ones can be so much fun!  Part of the challenge is to find a toy that your child will really play with and maybe one that will last for more than a few weeks! Here are some toys to take a look at:

Fisher-Price Rainforest Melodies and Lights Gym. Baby will enjoy the sounds of the rainforest and reach for the hanging monkey, soft toucan, elephant, parrot and frog.  One complaint is that it does not fold up for storage.  But if you’ve got room to keep it out, baby will enjoy this gym!

The Tiny Love Super Deluxe Gymini with Lights and Music is in the same category and has been a highly reviewed item for a few years now.  The mat is machine washable and folds up flat for travel.  It has won numerous awards including an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award, Parents ‘ Choice Silver Honors Seal, and Parenting Magazine Toy of the Year Award.

When baby is just a little bigger, he/she will want to move around! The Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper could be just the ticket. It’s a baby jumper and activity center in a portable unit. It comes with lots of activities and links to attach more toys for variety.

The Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Kitchen has two sides of play with a refrigerator, sink, stove on one side and family room on the other.  Although it is for 6 months and up, a toddler will probably play with it more than an infant. It is a winner of the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Awards for 2008 and part of Toy Wishes Magazines Infant Toy selections for Holiday 2007. 

The Fisher Price Walk and Ride Lion is also part of the Toy Wishes Magazine’s Infant Toy selections for 2007 and a Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award Winner for 2008.  Recommended for ages 9 months to 36 months, baby can ride on this toy or use it as a walker.  It also has lights, sounds, and music.  Very safe for toddlers and inexpensive too.
